15th December 2010

Olney based graphic designers Melon Design and Marketing has been awarded a grant of £1,000 towards new computers that will encourage more home working and a reduction in their business mileage.

Melon Design and Marketing received the Sustainable Routes grant which is available to businesses throughout Milton Keynes and aims to reduce business travel and CO2 levels.

Jennie Krupinski of Melon Design and Marketing said: “The grant was used to fund an employee working from home for two days a week, enabling that person to cut their weekly mileage without any negative effects on the business.  The Sustainable Routes grant is a great idea which suited us as a business. It helped us to be more productive by cutting down on travelling time.”

Sustainable Routes enables businesses to reduce their business travel and operate more efficiently. It is a match funded grant of up to £1,000 that can be put towards the cost of implementing an initiative such as remote working, developing flexible working policies, video conferencing equipment and fuel conversion for company owned vehicles. It is available to businesses with less than 250 employees across Oxfordshire.
