Join the Oxford Cycle Challenge
21st May 2010

The Oxford Cycle Challenge kicks off in just over 2weeks time and businesses and organisations across the City are getting ready to get back on their bikes. This is a great opportunity to incorporate the Sustainable Routes grant and find out what lots of other local businesses are doing to cut down on their business mileage.

The Challenge is simple: Sign up your organisation to the Oxford Cycle Challenge website and encourage your fellow employees to get back on their bikes for just ten minutes, and log their trips!

There are prizes for organisations logging the most trips and getting the highest percentage of their staff back on their bikes. Plus every person getting a cyclist back on a bike for the first time in over a year will win two Odeon cinema tickets!

So far almost 20 organisations are signed up and the momentum is building to the start of the Challenge on June 7th-June 27th.

During these three weeks there will be visits to signed up workplaces with bicycles for more nervous employees without their bikes, muffins handed out, Tyre Pump Tuesdays and Find Me Fridays where employees are challenged to cycle to a disclosed location on their lunchbreak and uncover a prize in a hidden locker once they get there!
